Critical Role Campaign 4 Unveils the Warriors Table

Since the launch of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a diverse cast of personalities, and a exciting storyline featuring angels, evil spirits, and dark forces growing in strength within Dol-Makjar.

Heads-up: Revealing details for Episode 3 of this adventure are included.

The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled

The third episode concluded with a huge suspense moment and revealed the premier party of adventurers who will branch out from the primary party to embark on their independent quest, apart from the other two tables.

This warrior group consists of Teor (portrayed by Travis), the nimble rogue (Laura), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander (Sam), and Kattigan (Robbie).

The Reason for Division

Considering a large ensemble, it was clear from the outset that having everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.

Hence, the initial installments of the new season serve as an Prelude, connecting the individual narratives before branching into three separate parties: Soldiers, Schemers, and Seekers.

Characteristics of the Soldiers Table

Per the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for players who prefer a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven story mode where peaceful solutions are rare.

At first glance, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might look out of place, but the events of the third episode make it clear why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the warrior group.

Why They Must Go

For one thing, the group has a clear idea where to proceed after a brutal opening clash with the enemy group.

A former ally of Thjazi—whose demise initiated the campaign’s events—exploited the enemy for his personal gain, invading the secret base, attacking the rogue, and stealing all the enchanted items to dispose of.

The traitor then settled his debts and ran away to a fortified location in the remote area, beyond the city, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.

Character Drivers

Moreover, each character has a specific drive to exit the urban setting:

  • The rogue, as the companion and trusted friend, seeks vengeance.
  • Kattigan knows Timmony and warns that it is a hostile environment.
  • Tyranny and The healer, having defied his house’s orders to kill Teor and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
  • However, their position as important members in the influential clan could help the team reach locations they usually can’t.
  • Moreover, Teor pledged a eternal obligation to Wicander for his deliverance and will now accompany him everywhere.

Pursued by Authorities

Finally, all of them are sought by the rulers that govern Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind dangerous:

  • The agile adventurer and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
  • The warrior and The healer defied House Halovar and the army of fiends they are allied with.
  • The target is targeted for elimination by the family.

This leaves them no alternative but to travel to Timmony in search of the antagonist.

Future Episodes

Based on the recent installment’s follow-up content, we discover that the warrior group will be absent next week, leaving the rest of the players to form the Questers and Planners groups.

Audiences can look forward to finding out which players will be where in the story’s concluding setup installment, released on next week.
